ENROLMENT: Enrolment on the course is considered complete only on receipt of the deposit, as confirmed by the organiser. The latter reserves the right to accept or reject applications on the basis of internal administrative considerations and the number of remaining places. If an application is sent, any deposit sent will be repaid to the applicant.

PAYMENT: After the application has been accepted and at least 30 days before the beginning of the course, the student must pay a deposit of €150 by money transfer (indicating ‘soggiorno studio’ as the reason). The rest of the course fee must be paid within 3 days of the beginning of the course, at the school’s administrative office.

DEPOSIT: The deposit must be paid at the moment of submitting the application by means of a money transfer to the following bank account:

The school accepts no bank charges.

CANCELLATION BY THE STUDENT : The enrolment is considered definitive on receipt of the deposit by the school. From that moment any cancellation of the enrolment must be made in good time and in writing (cancellations by telephone will not be accepted). Cancellation entails the loss of the deposit, which the school will retain.

CANCELLATION BY THE SCHOOL : If the school is obliged to cancel the course for serious reasons beyond its control, then all payments will be returned to the student.

EXCLUSION: The student may be excluded from the course for serious disciplinary reasons, without having any right to reimbursement.

EARLY REMPATRIATION : The early repatriation of the student can be requested for serious disciplinary reasons. In this case, no refund will be given.

JURISDICTION: Any legal dispute will be considered under Italian law, and under the jurisdiction of the Court of Catania.

ACCOMMODATION: If a student wishes to book accommodation through the school, he or she must inform the school when submitting the application. Accommodation will be provided from the Sunday before the beginning of the course until the Saturday after the end of the course.

VISA: Once in Italy, any foreign student who is not a citizen of a European Union country must submit a request for a ‘permesso di soggiorno’ within eight days of his or her arrival. To make the request, the student must take the following documents to the local police station:

1. his or her passport, along with a photocopy of it;
2. five passport-sized photographs;
3. a postal order for €10.33;
4. a photocopy of a credit card or other financial means which demonstrates the student’s ability to support herself during his or her stay in Italy;
5. a copy of an insurance policy covering the student for injury during his or her stay in Italy. If the student does not have a personal insurance policy, he or she may open an insurance policy by paying a postal order (which can be requested at the school office, and should indicate ‘copertura assicurativa richiesta per Permesso di Soggiorno’ as the reason) for €38.73 (for stays up to six months) or €77.46 (for stays up to twelve months) to the following account: I.N.A., Istituto Nazionale Assicurazioni, Agenzia Generale di Roma, Via del Tritone 181, Roma, account number 71270003.

Any student who is not a citizen of a European Union country and who wishes to enrol on a course lasting more than three months must request a student visa from the Italian Embassy in his or her country before leaving for Italy. The Scuola Ulisse will provide a certificate of enrolment, which is required to obtain the visa, only when the entire payment for the course has been received (including accommodation costs and payments for extra courses and services). If the student’s visa request is rejected after having received the certificate of enrolment, his or her payment will be reimbursed within thirty days , less an administrative cost of €50.  Any bank charges must be paid by the student.
